NC Pesticide Safety Education

The North Carolina Pesticide Safety Education Program’s mission is to promote the responsible use of pesticides through educational resources and training. The program is supported by North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service Specialists and Agents. Training covers a broad range of human safety and environmental issues for a state-wide target audience of approximately 15,500 private applicators, 20,500 commercial applicators, and 575 pesticide dealers. Cooperating State and Federal Agencies include the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

NC State University and N.C. A&T State University work in tandem, along with federal, state and local governments, to form a strategic partnership called N.C. Cooperative Extension, which staffs local offices in all 100 counties and with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
